Short Synopsis

LA DANY is an intimate portrait of the odd, extraordinary and endearing Dany Castaño Quintero, a transgender performance artist from Medellín, Colombia.  For over 20 years, Dany has entertained the crowds that gather in Bolívar Park following Sunday evening mass. Infamous for her vulgar, over-the-top performances, Dany is adored among the community of poor and dispossessed for her humor, spirit and generosity. But away from her adoring public, life is a struggle. Surrounded by poverty and violence, Dany forges a day-to-day existence to stay safe, sane and alive.
